I was so excited to buy my first vintage Louis Vuitton from Japan, I was looking for over three weeks and received too many offers for the sellers. One particular saumur called my attention and I received a good offer from the seller. I decided to buy it. I just received my bag yesterday, I took it to Louis Vuitton store to make a repair on the straps, the associate told me that he could not take it for repairs because is a fake louis vuitton. I started my claim with the seller and he agreed to refund it. I feel bad for the next person who will buy it because if they don't know they will assume is a real bag.
I happened to check the date code AR8903. Also the bag has a plastic smell and the strap is harsh and it does not feel like real leather. Also in one of the straps it looks like the vachetta has been painted to get a nice patina. I took pictures and sent it to the seller which did not make any comments about it.
At this point I'll go and return it and get my money back. However I would like to bring this issue to ebay community because I notice that even that the seller thinks is selling a real handbag it could be fake and he will take it back and try to resale it to another person.

Hmm got photos of the item: some users here are very good at saying fake or not:
As for the item you need to file a item not as described case. You may need to return the item as well.

The give away on your bag is the Date Code. The way yours would read is the 80th week of 1993. There are only 52 weeks in a year. If you wish you can PM with the item number. Glad you are getting a refund.

Did you file a claim with Ebay stating the item is Counterfeit? You must do that. The seller will be forced to pay the return shipping and will then be put on Ebay's radar.

Thank you. I don't know how to report the seller but they accepted my return and they will pay for the shipping. However they will put the bag on ebay again.

Thank you for taking the time and helping me. I knew it was fake since I opened it. The smell is like plastic. I know is a vintage piecce but the smell is different

Of the open board through messaging can be risky folks
That is to everyone reading this topic.

Don, Some things can not be discussed on an open board.

If it's the seller I believe it is, he/she sold at least 3 bags with that invalid date code and another with AR8911.
You also need to return another with AR8903 from a seller for whom you left feedback that the item arrived earlier than expected.
I didn't go through everything - don't have time now, but be wary of sellers in that country. There have been tons of fakes across various brands.

I thought any bag claiming to be authentic automatically goes to an authenticator before the seller receive the money. I just sold a GUCCI and it is on the way to the authenticator as I write this.
