Coach authentication

If a Coach purse is listed on EBay is it already guaranteed to be Coach? Thank you.

Although that's the law and as such, ebay policy, many sellers list fakes, some knowingly and some not knowingly.

It's always a good idea to verify any purchases or potential purchases.

Warning: There are companies that claim to authenticate items and some bags come with COAs. Be aware that some companies are more accurate than others so a COA isn't necessarily a guarantee of accuracy.

Re: Coach authentication

Thank you Alberta. My next question is, How do I get the photos from a purse ad on eBay that I would like to determine authentic or not? The seller finally added a photo of the creed to her listing. Libby

If there's a specific listing you're interested in, you can do one of 2 things.

1. If the listing has adequate pictures, you are allowed to post the item number

2. If the seller sent you additional pictures that aren't in the listing but are necessary in order to authenticate it, you can save the pictures to your device then upload them into a post.

Re: Coach authentication

No. The item is described as the seller lists it. On Mercari, they will authenticate an item to purchase with a commitment to buying & upcharge. Bookmark coachoutlet.com! 😊

Re: Coach authentication

In short those pics are meaningless. They could be altered or copied from a 3rd party, what you see is not always what you get online. Only purchases directly from coach are 100%.😀

What pictures? The OP hasn't posted any but we are very good at determining whether pictures in a listing or pictures sent to a potential buyer are the actual item.

@cassigna-0

This statement is nonsense. There are thousands of 100% authentic Coach bags listed on ebay. There are also fakes.

And if someone wants to know whether an item is authentic, they can ask here.

Keep in mind that there are 40 and 50 year old Coach bags. Although they may originally have been purchased directly from Coach, they're no longer available "directly from Coach." (And at the time those 40-50 year old bags were many, "online" wasn't even a thing!)

The way for a buyer to get one of those bags is to buy from the secondary (or tertiary or quaternary or subsequent) market. And a pre-owned genuine bag is no less authentic than when it was purchased originally.
