feedback

when i logged in after a while of not using ebay my account wasnt there i only had between 700 and 1000 feedbacks all good,  so i started a new account.

my thing is i always left the buyer good feed back as soon as they paid.

now when i buy, some sellers are holding my feedback hostage and asking for their feed back before they leave mine.

i pay immediately and right there i should get my feedback first.

this is principal i am not looking to leave bad feedback ever.

feedback

@loudav-29,

Leaving feedback has always been a voluntary action, it does not have to be left by buyers or sellers.   As a voluntary action there is no set way to leave feedback.

Some sellers leave feedback on receiving payment, or when they ship. Some leave it in batches. Some do not leave it until getting one from the buyer, and some do not leave feedback at all since the only type of feedback a buyer can receive is Positive ones, with positive comments.

Since paying is mandatory, do you really feel that doing the minimum required of you as a buyer, is worthy of praise?  Just about every way a buyer can harm a seller, can only be done after they have paid. Feedback is supposed to be about the whole transaction, and feedback is not a part of any eBay transaction. Therefore a seller cannot hold your feedback hostage.

Since all buyers including the non-payers, serial bid retracters and scammers have a 100% positive rating, the way sellers judge a buyer's reliability is by the feedback they leave for other sellers.   I see you have received 6 feedback in the last 6 months and year.  However, you haven't responded in kind to all of them.

Before ebay's big shake up in 2008, their suggestion for leaving feedback was that buyers should leave feedback first,  since they are the first to know if a transaction has gone well or not and if there was a problem how well the seller responded to it.   For some reason they changed the suggestion when they stopped allowing buyers to get anything but positive feedback.

  "i am not looking to leave bad feedback ever".

Then you are negating the whole reason behind leaving feedback. If a seller does not ship what was ordered in the condition advertised and within their handling time frame, then will not work with the buyer. They deserve a negative feedback.   I don't believe in neutral feedback myself.
