What style neck is this called

Shawl neck. It looks like mens.

It’s a shawl. A cowl is a very wide floppy-ish turtleneck.

I’m guessing men’s but check measurements as I owned a collection RL shawl collar sweater in the very late 70s that was definitely from his women’s collection so I know asfact that RL has done them for both but that neckline is traditionally men’s.

I think if it were womans the fold over part would be going in the oposite direction.  But yes do check the measurements.

Agree on the direction and I honestly don’t remember which way mine went as I let it go decades ago but I do remember that the trousers I bought it with were classic cuffed double pleats and we’re totally identical to his menswear. Sorry I don’t still have them...

Measurement should make it a nobrainer-esp. sleeve length.
