Search engine woes

Searching for "hat".... all categories....  "men's hats"...  "view search results"...

I checked, among other filters, "7 7/8" as my desired size.

Thousands of results, 95% of which are for a different size.

I understand that if I use "7 7/8" (with or without quotation marks) as a SEARCH CRITERION, their ridiculously broad search engine will select every 7 or 8 in the universe.

But, is their any way to make THEIR "filter" actully filter?

No clue what you're doing wrong but I just searched men's hat "7 7/8" as typed and got men's hats in 7  7/8!  Brought up 301 listings, Try again.

First: You think I didn't try that?
Second: It didn't work.
Third: The question is: why does eBay have a filter marked "Size" that DOESN'T FILTER for size??
