And I thought I posted a link to the Salearea Guides where that subject was discussed? Its under "Serial Numbers".

Just wanting to confirm this. If the bag was made before 1994 it can contain any letters/numbers but 1994 or after the letter "i" was mostly avoided.

Don't try to make "rules" because there are exceptions to nearly every one of them. If you have questions, it's best to ask and have your questions clarified.

No, if an AUTHENTIC bag was made before 1994 and IF that bag has a serial number, the serial number is all numeric with no letters. (Not even getting into the pre-serial bags!)

In bags with "serial numbers" that were comprised of production info and style numbers (1994 and later), "I" was generally avoided as both month and plant codes. BUT just because there are cases where authentic bags DO have I month and/or plant codes, it doesn't mean that every bag with either "I" month or plant code is authentic.

CATHBELLIVEA-0, all that information Alberta just posted is in the Salearea Guides. Ive posted how to find them several times, but Im not sure if youve had a chance to read them yet, or if you did you read too fast or didnt go back and read the information again until it was clearer. Or maybe Alberta just explains it better than whoever wrote the Salearea Guides did. I know theyre complicated, blame that on Coach who kept changing things every few years and is STILL changing things every few years. They never seem to learn from their mistakes.

But some of your questions are answered in those guides. The information is available any time you need it, you just have to read it carefully. Try doing what I do, read the Guides once a month and pretty soon everything starts to come together.

Theres a lot of good information AND free authentications available on that website too, if youre serious about Coach.
