I didn't see a category for "Health and Beauty" so here I am. I recently sold an item with a wrong photo. Buyer contacted ebay for an NAD return after 1 week, I immediately apologized and accepted the return with label sent. I even refunded before getting item back to avoid more hassle for her. Yesterday she left a negative
Seller left negative feedback due to hassle to return during the holiday season...."My rating reflects the hassle to do a return given the holiday crowds at the post office." This is beyond my control and the buyer had a return label that could just have been left at the post office. Also she had the option to return until January 21st so her going to the post office during the holiday season was HER decision.
Furthermore upon receipt of item, it was unsealed and used rendering it unsellable. The 50$ doesn't bother me so much...it's the negative after I bent over backwards to make the return easier for her. I even offered her the option of keeping the item with a full refund excluding the 5.00 shipping. Some people just suck. Do I have any other options here? Ebay is obviously being no help in negative removal. Thank you and Happy New Year.

Ahhhh I just feel sorry for you my friend. I hate it when someone receives a negative feedback. Mostly seller don't do this as they know how it affects another person's business. But most buyers doesn't feel the same. I really don't know whether you could take this any further. Better to forget what happened and try to move on with a straight mind being more careful than before. I hope you comes out of this strong. Take care.

Feedback is just an opinion on how a transaction went. Is too bad that buyers are not allowed to get negative feedback, or that you can see the # of returns, cases that a buyer has filed in the past.
Regardless, take the negative and move on. You can respond to the negative to show your side. However, 2 things I must point, having the wrong picture in listing is a problem and can cause the return, that is on you. Never refund before receiving item, in the off chance that you can re-sell it. It's too bad that it has been used, but nothing can be done now.

@Anonymous
Unfortunately, ebay probably won't remove the neutral (not negative) feedback because it's the buyer's opinion.
However with that said, I think you were very reasonable and accommodating, admitting your error and doing the right thing.
IMO, the buyer's explanation of why they left the neutral reflects way more poorly on them than on you! I'm so sorry for you. Mistakes happen and you owned it.

Unfortunately you created the less than positive situation.
It's on you.
I understand that you resolved as best you could, but in my opinion....... (worth nothing) the buyer was generous with the rating left.

Buyer revised to a neutral. Mistakes do happen but leaving a negative because of a holiday wait at the P.O. is being a jerk. Here is his original negative...."My rating reflects the hassle to do a return given the holiday crowds at the post office." Which was revised to "My rating reflects the hassle to do a return and not being able to give this as a Xmas gift." That being said, buyer was blocked and my percentage remains the same.

Guess you've never made an unintentional error....good on 'ya!

Thank you everyone for your opinions. Buyer has revised to neutral so no need for any further replies
Takeaways?
Buyer had item a week before opening a NAD
Complained about holiday traffic at PO as reason for negative...had she immediately filed and returned that reason would have been moot.
In my opinion, if the reason stated for giving a neg is "Post Office too busy" is out of my control and should be eligible for removal.
People make mistakes...this buyer has given 3 negatives out of 9 total...just an unhappy person and I feel for them.
Blocked
Grateful for revision and shall let them know in my reply
I always take responsibility and most people are kind.
Take a moment if you will and read the comment under the buyer in question...that's who I am and why I'm so upset.
Thank you all again...Happy New Year
