Help Authentic Coach Ashley

Hi

I’m trying to find out if this is Authentic Coach Ashley.

The Creed seems Quite Different with an X in the upper Right corner.
The Second Part of Number Starts with Z33041

Bags Measurements

12”W x 7” H x 5” W F37A4ADF-549B-4139-BAF1-3E9461FD26CA.jpeg835388CD-3EAF-413C-B807-AA7E86D47D2F.jpegEBABF2D1-854D-4223-A70E-670453578996.jpegFE5A8F10-0BCA-406F-B2A6-5EA4B348F2DE.jpegD91C6545-67B6-48EA-9B5E-097E12085DBB.jpegED8D1BCF-8377-492A-8572-ACEB8B248E26.jpeg

This is my understanding and what I've gathered based on what I've seen in various retail establishments. (My understanding differs slightly from Fashionclubgurl's.)

  • The "X" stamp on a Coach item indicates an item that may or may not have been originally made as a boutique/full priced item but ultimately was sent to a discounter and is ineligible for return to Coach and ineligible for warranty service.
  • Items with "Z" stamped in front of the style number indicate items made to be sold at discounters such as Nordstrom Rack, Off 5th,  TJ Maxx, Marshall's, etc. (This marking is similar to the "F" Coach uses to indicate MFF items.)
  • Because the OP's item has the "X" stamp, in this case, Coach won't honor a warranty issue but some "Z" bags do not have the X stamp and I believe they will be repaired within Coach's warranty period.
  • Items that we surmise are department store exclusives have been seen with a letter after the style number. I've seen style numbers followed by E as well as some followed by M. My belief (though not confirmed by Coach) is that items with "E" were made for and originally sold by Dillard's and items with "M" were made for and originally sold by Macy's.

Serial number: xxxxx-Zxxxxx = Similar to MFF but instead of "made for factory" it's made for discounter

Serial number: xxxxx-xxxxxE = Exclusive made for Dillards (?)

Serial number: xxxxx-xxxxxM = Exclusive made for Macy's (?)

Those kinds of markings have been used for years and are pretty solid proof that it's genuine. The X means the bag was sold to a major discount retailer like TJ Maxx or Marshalls. The Z before the style number means it was specifically made for one of Coachs regular retail partners.

Theres still not a lot of agreeement about which letter stands for which retailer since the only way to know for sure is if the purse came with the original receipt from that store but since Coach has or did have retailing partnerships with most of the major department stores it has to be from some place like Nordstroms, Dillards, etc. Most experts think that M was for Macys just because it seems logical, but Ive never expected Coach to do things logically and so far theyve never disappointed me.

Thanks, alberta, thats a big help!

im still trying to make sense of all those added letters. The purseforum has a thread about Coach product grades and markings but its never really been updated and the few posts about those codes are pretty old, I just went through all 17 pages of them.
