Giorgio Armani Jacket

Alright, I'm new to this luxury thing.  Normally if I have a luxury designer piece I send it to TRR or a consignor, but this time I decided to keep it and try to sell it online.  (It's not on EB) I bought a Giorgio Armany womens jacket for less than $20 and when I went to competing sites like TH*edup  TRR and TRAD**Y, they were selling for thousands of dollars (or hundreds).  But then I went to EB to see what an Armani would fetch and solds were less than $100, some  as low as $20.  The highest price I saw was $195, and I'm pricing my jacket at 3 times that amount on the other sites.

So, what is the true value of an Armani?  Is it still considered luxury?  (I know the answer is "what the buyer is willing to pay)

What are the chances of sales on EB if I list it starting at $300?  I know a lot of this is speculation, but I want to know your experience with Armani.

I know the men's jackets go for a nice $$$.

Correction:  I just checked the prices on TRR and Armani jackets are in the hundreds and some selling below $100.

Armani is definitely a true luxury brand but sadly is very buyer specific and has minimal secondary market resale OVERALL as a brand. IMO it is not worth buying for resale as a label with exception of specific “killer” pieces and IMO one either has that specific eye or they don’t.

Armani isn’t alone with this issue. There are certainly other great luxury houses that tank on the secondary market (again, with exception of specific pieces). Another one that comes to my mind is Escada. JMO.

Good luck with your pieces and hope they do well.
