I bought a part for my car but when my mechanic fitted it he said it was faulty and caused my engine managemnet light to come on and several faults to my car. I tried to contact the seller but they did not respond. I started a return but the seller declined it and the return id closed. How do I get my money bck through the ebay money back guarantee?

How long did you have the part?
Has the part been used?

When was the part delivered?
What was the seller's return policy?
What reason did you choose when you opened the case?
If you opened a case within 30 days after receiving it and you chose it didn't fit the seller can decline. If you chose it was the wrong item/defective/ not as described the seller must accept the return.
So please tell us more details.

The OP hasn't returned to give us answers but the negative feedback he left clearly shows he waited too long for the seller or eBay to allow him to return it, which was his fault.
Defective parts happen and that's why you have 30 days to return a defective part, but the buyer has to do their part and ask to return it within 30 days.
I see the seller and eBay was within their right to deny the refund and it's wrong to leave negative feedback when you didn't return it when you were supposed to.
