You should contact Dyson directly to get that answer. Most likely they have terms listed on there site. If it was a OEM battery and sold from a Authorized Dealer, i would think you should be covered under there current warranty or accessory/part warranty which can be less. Many manufactures require a receipt and some may use the manufacture date of the item to determine the age.

Would love to know how this ends up after contacting Dyson. They have a great product and curious how they handle Ebay sales warranty issues.

Warranties are only through the authorized dealer or the manufacturer.

Some items eBay offers an extra fee to buy a warranty but that is not through the seller.

Most items bought on eBay do not carry a manufactures warranty.

You should contact Dyson and ask them.

Most of the time that is true however there are some companies that will warranty there products regardless where you purchase, even if it was purchased used or new.

Where can I find one of those companies?

The reason they don't warranty if not purchased from an authorized distributor is because it could be a fake if it's  not purchased through their distribution system.

If it was a manufacture warranty, there should have been information, either inside or on the package telling you how to register the item with the manufacture for the warranty.

Have a great day.
