FRAUD - SCAM /// SELLER - MICROSD ///

Seller sells on ebay a microsd saying it is 256GB, has printed that on the microsd received, you add to the mobile or camera and shows 256GB, once you start transfer files all works, when you try to retrieve files after transfer over 28GB stop working, then you loose the files. I add then it to my laptop with Linux Debian and in the Disks I could see that was actually 28GB, then I read on internet, chineses scams doing it, they change something inside the microsd to appear bigger size than actually is.

The first time that happened to me I didn't catch it in time for a return, now I use a program called "Check "Flash" the day it is received. At least you both are in the USA and the return should be free and painless.

I also used a program called "SD Formatter" to delete the fake partition and at least got a usable 8g out of 32g, but don't do this if you are gonna return it.

Re: FRAUD - SCAM /// SELLER - MICROSD ///

There are a lot of cards with phony labels exaggerating their capacity being sold online; this is nothing new. You need to be aware of that and carefully screen the seller and don't fall for a price that's too good to be true.

By the way, you can't name a seller on the forum nor can you give their address. I'm sure a moderator will delete that from your post.

Re: FRAUD - SCAM /// SELLER - MICROSD ///

Is it possible for you to post a picture of the MicroSD you are describing?? I've purchased a number of MicroSDs on E-Bay but I've never seen/bought an item like the one you are describing... I would like to see what your referring to in order to avoid being snaked by a seller like the one you purchased your item from...
