Counterfeit Items

On September I purchased (2) new Shure Beta 87a microphones from a seller here on eBay. The mics were received shortly after. They were purchased as back-ups to the current mics we have.

We started using them in June of this year.

On Sept 12th, one of the mics was dropped and failed to work. I unscrewed the screen and noticed that the diaphram had separated from the mount and the mount was broken.

I sent it back to Shure for repair/replacement only to receive it back with a letter stating it was a counterfeit copy.

I know that I'm well out of the return period with ebay and buyer protection with paypal. I tried to contact the seller but no response.

While I can't get restitution i would definitely like to (1) be able to post negative feedback on the sellers profile and (2) possibly have them kicked off ebay. I don't want to see anyone else get burned by this seller.

I've gone through every portal/link/page on ebay and can't find a way to contact them directly. I have the letter from Shure stating the items were counterfeit.

Can someone direct me to phone number or email address to get the ball rolling?

Thanks,
Duke

Re: Counterfeit Items

I see a couple of options here

1)It's not too late to tray and do a chargeback with CC company by creating a dispute. This will route through eBay's MP to the seller,

2) See if they have any more listings for the Mic you bought and report/ You should see a rport link to the right of the description shipping tabs.

3) You could try reporting to Shure as well. If they are a participant in VERO on eBay they can get them pulled right away.

Think you are beyond the 90 day limit for FB

Re: Counterfeit Items

Its within the 30 day window, just file an INAD case, I think there is an "item not authentic" option.

1) Thoroughly read the eBay MBG (money back guarantee) policy.
https://pages.ebay.com/ebay-money-back-guarantee/

2) File an INAD (Item Not as Described) case. You can only file ONE case on eBay, and it must be done within 30 days after delivery.

3) Seller will have to refund, but may require you to send the item back; if so he will have to provide the label.

4) Pay close attention to timelines and steps during the case.

Do not communicate with the seller any more except via the case.
If you send the item back without a INAD case you will not be refunded.

Re: Counterfeit Items

You bought them 9/01/2020 and started using them  June of this year.  If so, there's no resolution from ebay for you. Send him another message, hi volume sellers often get too many messages and lose some of them.

Thoughts: The buyer might not of none that they were bogus. You have had them for to long to beef, maybe someone else  swapped them with yours.  I am not disagreeing, just saying.
