I bought a Apple Watch Back in Dec. 2020 and has not been able to reach the seller to remove password, making it unusable. His contact says he is no longer a member. Since its been 4 months, can this be resolved?

@wms4315 Im sorry to tell you this, but at this point nothing can be done. So the watch has something called "Activation Lock" on it. This makes it impossible for someone else to use it. To be able to pair the watch to your own iPhone, you would need the previous owner to either enter their Apple ID and password on your iPhone or to turn the feature off via https://www.icloud.com/ by signing in with their Apple ID > Settings > My Devices > Click on Apple Watch > Click on the "X" > click on Remove.
But you said this person is no longer an ebay member and its been 4 months. I hate to say this but you are not covered under the ebay money back guarantee. It is 30 calendar days from delivery date you can ask for a refund/return. My question is if you noticed this, why did you not message him sooner or attempt to request for your money back?
Now there is a way. You can remove the logic board and replace it with another apple watch (one that is not iCloud locked and sold for parts) and this will remove the iCloud lock. However you didn't hear that from me

Thank you for replying! I had won on auction, 2 different color watches from separate sellers and chose the one my wife would like, intending to sell the other one. So I put it away and just listed it for sale 3 weeks ago, not knowing there would be a password issue. Thank you for the info on trying to fix the proplem.

Since you don't know the passcode wipe it to factory.

@Anonymous Sadly that will not work. The watch itself is iCloud locked....in other words, that means if OP did wipe it or flash a new OS, it will still need an apple account login. Kudos though for the idea.

Of course! I would take @downunder-61 's advice and open a dispute with PayPal. I have had issues with items from other sites and they helped me out a lot!
