Anyone have printer problems from generic ink?

Back when I had an Epson printer I started buying generic cartridges.  After replacing them about 3 times my printer died.  Now I have a Canon pixma 2520 and I have cold feet about buying generic cartridges again.  Has anyone had any problems in regards to Canon generic ink and their printer not working after using them for a while?  If so, which generic cartridges made your printer not work?

yup--in short--just stay away from generic.

The manufactorors go to great lenghts at keeping up with generics--they will incorporate into the 'firmware' of the printers to reject anything not genuine. 

You can typicaly find good deals on ink here on eBay--stick with genuine.
