There are not many modern doll artists who work with wax because it is a difficult medium to work with. Are there any markings on the back of the doll's head/neck? A label on the clothing? The only modern wax doll we have in our own collection was made by Lynne and Michael Roche in England. It was more than $1,000 to purchase and we have had it since the '90s. This does not look like one of their dolls but clearly, since you have this doll, there is someone else who is/was making a doll or dolls in wax. That doll you have would have been expensive, just as ours was. I will try to find more info for you, but so far, I am not finding a duplicate of your doll, but it may be a one of a kind.
