The new Spring Seller Update has arrived.
I have been noticing disabled E-Bayers being impacted by the changes. Some are leaving messages in other discussion groups about their new upcoming challenges over this.
Am I the only one physically unable to ship orders out within the 1 day shipping time required in the Spring Seller Updates?
Anyone else worried about losing their 20% discount over this?
Are you being negatively impacted by the new Spring Seller Updates?
Please share your thoughts with the rest of our discussion group. Together we can help one another.
Disabled E-Bayers Discussion Group:
During the past 4 years I have met many disabled E-Bayers like myself. Currently we send messages to one another all the time. Recently I decided to start our own discussion group. Thank you for becoming a member.

Currently I have a low volume of sales and ship mostly small things, so am usually able to ship within one day.
My goal is to increase my sales revenue significantly this year by listing more and selling larger, more expensive items as well. I am concerned that achieving this and maintaining TRS may be harder with the new requirements.
I have frequent migraines that interfere with listing. I also have permanent weakness in the connective tissue near my spinal column, which causes muscle spasms in my chest and back when I do too much upper body and arm movement.
When the spasms get kicked off, it's very painful and makes it hard to breathe. Wrapping many small packages at a time, or a few larger ones can set the spasms off, so I have to pace the packing I do.For now, I'm going to do the best I can and see what happens.
I'm very interested to learn from other group members what strategies you find helpful, and will be happy to share any that have worked for me.

When I first read the update, I wasn't too worried because I already specified 1-day handling time. It's not so much my disabilities that may cause me to lose TRS, but rather the fact that I had too many no returns items to qualify.
I prioritized shipping as my #1 task that must be accomplished, so I've managed to hold to the 1-day handling. It's the 1st thing thing I do daily when my time becomes my own--DH seems to think he comes first :-x. If I'm feeling particularly rough on any given day, I can usually at least print labels, and the tracking gets uploaded automatically. USPS pickup helps, because if I have a pickup scheduled, well, I can't stand up my mailman, can I? If I have to take them to the PO, many times my son will do it for me--he owes me one (or ten:) anyway. In the worst case, I print labels & the items get shipped the next day--no problems with this so far.
I already took returns on most of my items, but I just changed my return policy to accept 14-day returns on everything, and I would not have done that except to keep TRS. I figure eating a few losses will still be cheaper than losing the 20% discount.

I know what you mean... getting those labels printed and, usually, the packages together is the one thing I try to make sure I get done.I also sometimes print the label but actually ship the next day.
My packages are First Class 99.99% of the time, so no pickup unfortunately. I used to put small packages in my rural delivery box, but got nervous about the possibility of theft out of my box plus like to get an acceptance scan.
You may not have to worry about returns. I've had a very liberal return policy spelled out in my listings, but only one person ever asked to return anything.

Hi Pat,
My husband started this yesterday or maybe the day before.
He's been going thru 3 medical procedures this week.
He rolls in and out of here many times a day. Works at it for a while. When the pain gets to severe he rolls back out and lies down. He seems to have found this to be his best way to get something done.
He says he's gotta move or he gets worse. Hope this helps just listening to him say that al the time.
Take care hope you feel better,
Liz

I guess I am lucky because I can leave a note and some cookies for Mike, my mailman and he will pick up non-scheduled pick up of parcels. So, my packages usually go out the next day. Sometimes the same day if someone makes payment early enough.

Hmm, cookies and a nice note sound like a great idea! Does he pick up even if you only have First Class packages?
I don't know our delivery person, though my husband happened to meet her today for the first time and said she was nice.
It would be pretty safe for me to leave packages outside where we live, but I don't have a covered place to put them. Where do most people leave packages for pickup?

I leave my packages in the corner of my covered front porch ... and yes, he will pick up even if it is just 1st class or parcel post.
He's a peach...a real keeper, always on time and always friendly.

Okay, I give up. This is the third time tonight that I posted in a thread with more than one paragarph, and only one paragraph actually posted. Something wonky is definitely going on.

Pat please let me know more about what is missing when you enter your post. I will try to find out why.....

For those who don't ship daily, this 1-day handling time requirement for the TRS discount must surely blow. It means change the way they're doing things or give up a nice chunk of change.
Although I changed to accept returns on everything, I don't want to take returns on certain items. We'll see how it plays out.

Thanks, wty. It seems to be okay today.

I also feel for anyone who needs more than a business day to ship. For some it's because of health issues, and others because of jobs, family obligations, or because they make their items and one day's just not enough time.
I usually manage to get things shipped in a day, but if I increase my volume like I want to try to do this year, it will be harder to do.

My sales are too erratic to bother scheduling pickups. I just meet
my postlady when she drops off the daily mail. She takes whatever I have, including First Class, non-ebay stuff - anything.
Maybe I'll make her some cookies. Maybe I'll eat some, too.:-p
