Here's to hoping we get a lot of chatters to post this month. This is your chance to talk about any old thing ... any subject you want.
This is a real transition month for us here in the Pacific Northwest ... the rain starts. We have had one good storm come through so far and there will be more as the month goes on. What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

Good morning all ... Well, my homemade from scratch lasagna turned out pretty darned good. Even the vegetarian version was tasty good. Sure wish my youngest son and his family could have been here. We all had a good time though.
Hurray it's officially fall ... my favorite time of year ... I love the transition to cooler weather, the changing colors and mmm, the cooking ... stews, soups, casseroles. Yummy.

Same here Fall is my favorite too.
We are in northeast Florida. This time of year everything is migrating thru here. Being close to the ocean brings many different types of birds.
Over the years I have learned how to whistle back and forth with zillions of them. There are afternoons here when every tree as far as you can see will fill up with Robins. Then at first light the next day they will be all hopping around drinking and eating. Then they head off for another day of flying.
We have Canadian geese to this. All sorts of ducks and sea birds. So many different types of birds. You probably have similar birds migrating where ever you are........who ever is reading this?
Enjoy your day,
DWB

Hi all ... another rainy day here. Not much happening ... didn't score much in the way of items to sell over the weekend garage saleing. What I do have I will list today ...
Will be doing some reading ... nothing nicer then a good book on a rainy afternoon.

there was a piece on the news about how all the rain we've been having has had a major impact on our produce. The tomatoes are huge and they don't have the flavor they had earlier in the season. Some stuff got wiped out completely.
Fall is my favorite season too. The leaves are already starting to turn. I'm hoping that we have lots of color this year. I love to get out in the car and just drive and take in all the colors and smells.

Going back into the 1950s and 1960s we would rake up all the leaves into piles. And light them on fire??? Anyone remember that?
We had a dog who just loved raked up leave piles. She would crawl all around in the piles popping up and disappearing and popping up again. She did the same thing in snow piles.

When the kids were young ... we lived in a small house with a huge cherry tree in the front yard. It was a beauty but when fall came that tree dropped leaves like mad. We would get the kids involved in raking the leaves into a big pile ... then we would all jump in the pile and have a leaf fight ... oh it was such fun. But of course, then we had to rake again. But we all did it with a smile on our faces.

People still do that around here...unless we have a burn ban in which case it's too dry. We're borderline right now.

O'h boy Banana Bread with coffee sounds great.
I remember the leaf fights and crawling all around in them. Did anyone see that clip of the dog in the leaves on TV the other day?
Deer are here 2 new baby deer out here lately.
In Florida they have little ones 2 times a year it seems

Did I tell you guys about the little kitty in heat that was hanging around here? She was here for about a week. I finally broke down and fed her. She was gone the next day. I haven't seen any deer in over a week. The acorns are falling like crazy so I'm sure they are deep in the woods chowing down!

First I remember hearing about the kitty hanging around. They know right where to go don't they? We give off some kind of scent.
Ever notice cats will stay away from some people. And go to others?
They are very good at figuring people out.
So you have that sense they trust. So they go to you.
She'll be back

We have a twelve year old cat named Sophie who avoids most people ... she definetly does not like our children ... she goes into hiding when they come over. I don't even think my grandson knows that we have a cat. LOL.
Rainy days and Mondays ...
Hard to believe it's the end of September already.

Funny your grandson don't know you have a cat. That's a good one.
Maybe when he's a little older he will appreciate the cat. Seems to work out that way many times.
