Re: Happy Postings

Holy Moley that's a big pic. Sorry. And blurry.  My Dad's hands are not so steady these days.  However, most of my pics look a LOT better if they are blurry. 😉

My Dad. 1932 - 2014 I miss you.

Re: Happy Postings

The horse owner who let your horse loose reminds me of an old saying.

"There are more asses than there are horses".

Hard to believe how some will treat animals.

Every animal we ever owned was a "don't wanna". Someone booted it out. Or it wandered in hungry.

Your heart shows in your kindness towards Dolly wandering down the road. You helped.

Great posting

Re: Happy Postings

You nailed that one DWB - the "lady" who owned her was something.  She told the police Dolly got loose when loading her horses for the move out.  I saw a truck/horse trailer at the end of our little road about a half hour before Dolly showed up. Dummy me thought they were looking for her so I went house to house looking for the person who was looking for her.  No one lost a horse.

It was not until the next day we realized that she was not lost, she was dumped.

We too have taken in our share of those who were no longer wanted by their families.  It is a sad state when one can just open a door and dump out part of their family but it happens every day.

I have a good eBay friend who also has had many animals show up at her door and she has taken in each of them. We used to tease each other that there is an invisible "OPEN" sign that only lost animals can see that hangs over our doors and they come to our homes. We would pass the invisible sign back and forth cause for a while she would get one or more (she seems to get kitties in sets of two for some reason) so she had the sign; then I would get a stray dog so I had the sign... when Dolly came along I asked how many cats/dogs one horse equals and said I think I need to retire the sign now... :^O

People...   yup:  There Are more asses than horses.

Sad.

Re: Happy Postings

Animals can tell who they are able to trust. They get some sense from us.

They seemed to find the open sign at our place all the time also. Looking back over our lifetime every animal we ever had was a stray or a "Don't wanna". Ya know "we don't wanna any more" type people. They at least look for a good home before giving them away.

Your horse that became part of the family is incredible. You must have a big heart to take in a horse.

Former owner is part of the "more asses" group. What a jerk.

In lots of pain today be back when I can,

DWB
