We came here because we are disabled. Sharing our good days and our bad days with other members.
I have learned many things from other members postings in this group. These helpful things are mixed up here and there in different topics.
Decided to create a new topic where we post all kinds of things about being Disabled.
Are there things you have found to be helpful?
Are there things you've tried that did not work out so well?
This past year I have enjoyed listening to Healing Music on Pandora Radio for FREE.
Cortizone anti itch cream carefully massaged into regions that hurt and are disabled. Using this product has actually calm down the pain? Heard this from a doctor one day and tried it. It worked for me?
Tylenol works better for me than about anything else.
Drinking a lot of water every day seems to make me feel better.
Being a member of this group has helped me sooooooooooo much.

I book mark the group and put it on my favorites bar. I have a folder I call e-bay stuff, that I put all my e-bay links in.
I made one for the advanced search to check out bidders which came in handy yesterday because my gut said to cancel a bid. I had other bidders so I won't be out a huge amount of fees, but it was $200 + camera the buyer had three different accounts in the last year and had just closed and opened a new one on Dec 10th! PLUS he was bidding on 4 other cameras. Maybe I was paranoid and it cost me $10 but it was worth it I think. Only reason I caught it was he had a feedback of 9 with a funny symbol I had never seen before, turned out that symbol meant he had other accounts that he's closed. Wonder how bad the feedback or the number of packages "lost " in the mail or arriving empty before e-bay bans a buyer.
Of course then the person that won said they had a family emergency and can't pay for a few days, but they won 3 other high price auctions. I gave them one extra day for the benefit of the doubt. I think I'll stick to lower end collectibles for now and stay away from electronics.
Hope you're all staying warm and healthy.

Gee whiz that's a lot of stress in the camera sale. Not sure how you figured out the buyer has other names on Ebay. That's a good one to know.
We've had many buyers asking us to wait longer than normal to be paid. We go along with it like you did. We have the time set for 8 days before Ebay does that automatic thing chasing them for the payment. Seems to work well. Even those asking for more time. I tell them "you have 8 days to pay before Ebay starts bugging you". They like that.
Going to try the bookmark thing good idea.

If you see a picture that looks like this after the name but no star then it means they have had more than one id I don't know what the criteria is that E-bay uses this. But you
can also click on the link on the right hand side of the feedback page it says view id history.
The new thing I learned though was this advanced search that only sellers can do about bidders, here's a link to it. So if you get a funny feeling and think hmmmm I want to cancel that bid and put them on my blocked bidder list so that never bother me again then run there ID through here.

Here's crossing my fingers that the new high bidder pays, if not I may just take the next bid down and be done with it. I am loosing about 150 on the deal as it 😞 I just bought it last August but it stinks as a camera for taking low light close up pics.... in other e-bay listings.

HI Red, try saving this link. Or better yet when your on the first page of the disabled e-bayer group click your favorite button on your browser. Explorer is the star with an arrow will add it at the left hand side or other browsers all have a star somewhere.

re: jenmebe2
There are many situations out there where a person needs to change their user ID.
When first signing up for ebay we did not realize we had to stay with the name we chose. We chose "whotoldya" only because it was something we say around our home all the time. Its a lousy ebay name. We will make a change one of these days. We are allowed to do this if we want. If you ever decide to change your ID it is best to call Ebay and have them help you.
I know people who changed their name because they wanted to get their ebay handle in a .com address. Only to find it was already taken. So they changed their ebay name to go along with a website .com name.
People change their names all the time. And many have multiple ebay accounts. They sell different type items and feel better separating them. It is ok to have multiple accounts.
There is another discussion board here on Ebay where the posters tend to say negative things quite often. Only reason for my going there is to learn from some of the postings. Some posters over there are famous for degrading one another. Kind of sad they need to argue like that. 2 years ago I mentioned being disabled. I received 87 negative responsed in 1 day. This is what prompted me to create our group.
Those of you who know me realize my goal here is to have everyone be kind to one another. It has worked out very well. We all are there for one another so many times. There is no other discussion board out there like ours. This is because of the kindness of our members.
Big group hug to everyone. One of my more popular sayings around the home has always been...."Try a lot of kindness"
gotta head off to the Rehab again today.

I had to change my ebay name because my ex was using it with a few more letters added to the end. And on his about me page he was saying all sorts of bad things about me. Fortunately ebay made him delete all of it and helped me change my ID.
DWB...I am so sorry you had to go through that experience with all the negative posts. Unfortunately there are people in this country that think that all disabled people are running a scam and are looking for a handout. If they had any brains at all they'd realize that we want to work and that's why we are selling here on ebay and other places. On the plus side...if you hadn't gone through that, you wouldn't have started this group! I'm not saying I'm glad you had to go through it. I'm just glad you are the kind of person who makes lemonade out of lemons! And I know everybody else here agrees! You have done a wonderful thing with this group and I am thankful for your efforts.

Gee whiz you are making me teary eyed reading your posting. Thank you for the kind words.
Its the members of our group that make it so special. We all are going thru some difficult moments and days. Its a blessing to be able to feel cared about in here.
Another member of this group (no longer active) really defended me when they went on the attack in that other board. He asked them if they enjoy "kicking a cripple". Then he was verbally attacked on there. He kept going back after them. Then another person defended him. It was quite the battle for a week or so.
Nice we have more postings this time of year. Hope they keep on coming during the dog days of summer,
A pain free weekend to all of you

DWB-sorry that you had to go through that. I have encountered antagonism on other boards.
I am on food stamps and Medicaid and they are a great help.
All that I can do is try my very best to survive.

I too have gotten a lot out of this group! Thank you DWB for keeping it going. And thank you Denise for your strength. I think it's safe to say that most of us in this group are struggling to survive and hearing other people's stories helps a lot!
The first 2 years I was sick I could barely get out of bed. Part of it was my illnessess and part of it was the medication I was taking. The doctors had me on beta blockers which greatly affected my functionality and my weight.
My cousin suggested I see a TCM doctor...that's a traditional Chinese Medicine doctor. I did and after about a year of trying different herbal combinations and supplements, we finally hit on the right combination. He and my rheumatologist worked together, got me on the right mix of prescription meds, herbals and vitamins and I was finally able to function again.
People often ask me what I take. I always tell them everyone is different and different things work for different people. Of course it also depends on what's wrong with you. I find that even if I can't get out of bed, keeping occupied is the best thing for me. It keeps me from sitting around thinking about things and getting depressed.
OK...I've gone on long enough. Now let's hear from some more of you.
