The daily chat topic that was started by one of our members sure has become popular.
Received a message this morning from a member asking for an April Daily Chat topic. So here it is.
Sorry about not being on here quite as much lately. Been in a lot of pain unable to do much of this. Doing a little better this morning.
Reading thru all the postings our member are leaving is such good medicine ain't it? We have so many 😄 willing to help one another 😄 members.
Wishing you all a pain free month of April.

I asked my husband where I can find Jimmy and he said "but I don't care." The nerve of him! :^O
04-13-2012 06:46 AM
Gee, I hope my references to Jimmy and "I don't care" made sense? Kept hearing the old song... "Jimmy cracked corn and I don't care..." I don't even remember any more of the song and haven't a clue what it means!
I had a funny eBay thing happen last night. I recently searched eBay for "lehman-parker" with the description checked on. So eBay sent me an email titled "Looking for lehman-parker?" They then proceeded to tell me how they could help me find lehman-parker. Wow, eBay is now offering therapy services, where they'll help you find yourself! 😄

Thanks for those links. I do actually try and read what ebay sends but I think they have lawyers write all those releases...no disrespect to any lawyers that might be here. They just don't make sense.
As for ebay customer service, none of it is in the USA which really ticks me off. I called a few months ago to find out why I was still a Power Seller but not a Top Rated Seller. I was on the phone for almost half an hour and couldn't get an answer. Then I went back to reading ebay's policies and somewhere along the line they changed the requirement for shipping notifications. It doesn't matter if you ship the next day. You have to post the tracking number by the next day. I wasn't doing that so I lost my Top Rated Seller status. It's all a ploy to get you to use their shipping tool. It's also ridiculous because I could print out the label and post the tracking info then not ship for days and they wouldn't know the difference. At least I don't think so.
I've given up on ebay's customer service. I keep saying I'm going to quit selling on ebay but it's what I know the best so I keep coming back. I don't mind change...my brain just doesn't process it the way it used to 😉

Well, my poor little birdies in the carport didn't make it. It looks like they were trying to leave the nest to fly. 2 were stuck hanging on the side and one was on the ground. I took the nest down and there was still one in there alive. So I moved it and, hopefully, the baby will make it.
Nature can be so cruel!

Gee that's sad about the baby birds.
Do you still see the mom and dad birds around?
Something may have happened to them....
Crows (blackbirds) sometimes will cause problems with nesting birds or the eggs.
Keep on talking to them they will keep coming.
Whistle just like this.... 😮

So sorry you are experiencing extra pain, DWB. As seems to be the general concensus here, cold, damp, downright nasty spring weather is vicious when it comes to pain.
It's been raining and cold every day this month. One of the warmest winters ever, March with days in the 60's/70's - unheard of for the Great White North - and April we're finally getting our cold weather.
Blast it all! Everything bloomed/ing in March, apple and cherry trees now in full bloom - with frosts every night, won't be any harvest for those poor orchard growers this year.
I don't know, I'm a pretty simple person, keep my pity parties to a minimum, but each and every one of us has so much going for us. Maybe our health issues won't allow us the lives we may well have wshed for, but it has not stripped from us lives well worth living and being active members in.
The rain, cold, dark, fungal-producing drippiness will stop some day. I know it will! And then you'll all have the pleasure of hearing me complain about the heat!!!
(Not really - I have central air! ;o)
Make it a good/better one!

At first I thought it was the crows but after talking to my brother, who knows a bit about birds, I came to agree that there were probably too many chicks in the little nest and one pushed the others out. The parents are still around and I think I heard a smaller version of their song from the one remaining chick. I thought I saw it fly off with them yesterday but I'm just not sure.
We've got the dampness and rain here too. But I'm not complaining because we really need the rain. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Thank you for your concern Peggy.
Going back a few years (a lot of years :^O) I was doing motivation speeches.
The opening of a motivation speech is very important. Here was one of them I used that really got some attention:
"My life has been full of terrible tragedies."
Most of them never happened.
Nice to read posting with members sharing stories about pets and birds and all this nice stuff. We sure got a good group don't we?
Enjoy your weekend. Just sent some birds your way. Hear them?

I have two terrorists...er, terriers...and they have come to believe themselves mighty bird dogs.
The Scottie is particularly fond of birds, while the Westie-Poo never cared at all, until the Scot, Sherlock, turned out to be such a bad influence.
They are both rescues - Hampton, the W-P, was thrown out in the New Mexican desert in July, survived a three-day "waggin'-train" transport here to his forever home in Wisconsin almost 8 years ago now. We figure he's around 10 yo now.
Sherlock is a true Scottie male - rambunctious, full of himself, yet very loving and devoted to those he has decided are his responsibility to protect. (You earn this protection him by feeding him, playing with him and, basically, letting him get his way - or at least taking the second or two to think about doing what you've just ordered him to do before obeying!).
He is a rescue from St. Louis, but he came to me as a six-month-old pup, who was an owner-surrender - she was going into a nursing home. A shorter "waggin-train" this time, but still a hike to Door County!
He loved Hampton instantly and Hampton tolerates him. They are both devoted to me. Hampton would have made a great performing dog - one of these the dog trainers are always searching for when they visit the human societies (like Benji).
But, as a survivor, he is also very hesitant to attempt new things, meet new people - has to have my "okay" to take chances - and would probably have been unhappy in that sort of life.
He's by far the smartest dog I've ever known and works so hard to please. A true sweetie and I hope those people who were so cruel to him will pay for their inhumane meanness some day.
Hope the pic is visible!

Picture came out perfect. Nice how animals seem to have their own personality. Also how good they are at running the place.

Peggy, what a great photo and adorable fur babies. 🙂
The precious dog we had (or had us?) for his long lifetime was kind of cross between your two dogs. I never knew his heritage.
Sorry I've been away from the group for a while. I've been a bit out of it, plus trying to reorient myself to what I'm doing with my listings since the March free auctions ended.
My Fixed Price sales have pretty much tanked. I'm now trying to add a few auctions every evening as a test to see if that will help.
04-25-2012 07:32 AM
Following right behind Pat comes Kate who has also kind of had sales tank lately. Think you got great stuff but it doesn't sell. eBay is threatening to take away my power seller status cuz my sales are down. Oh well ... what to do but keep listing. Once my free listings are done ... I do .99 auctions ... that way it only costs me a dime to list. Got to keep those fees down.

Kate, thanks for that post! My sales have been miserable and I've lost both my Power Seller Status and Top Rated Seller status. I used to be comfortable knowing that I'd sell at least one or two things a week. Now I'm lucky if I sell one or two things a month! I've also noticed that people aren't paying what they used to pay.
Hopefully things will pick up in the fall after the election. NO! I'm not starting a politics thing!!! IT'S THE ECONOMY 😉

You're right there Soloinar, people aren't paying what they used to ... seems I get plenty of watchers but they wind up not bidding.
Guess we're all in the same boat sales wise ...

I am a reader ... that was until my bifocals became too weak to read. I let a few years go by. Recently I bought a pair of reading glasses, brand new, at Goodwill for only $6 ... that I could afford!! Now I am almost done with the third book of the Hunger Games. Then I will start the trilogy called the Traveller by John TwelveHawks ... comes to me highly recommended.
I listed earlier in the week and am just looking at my listings and seeing only watchers and no bids. It is exasperating.
It is a dark and rainy day here ... very typical for us here in the Pacific Northwest.
Hope you all have a great day ... I am off to finish my book.
