It's heavy, kind of triangle in shape, sawtooth edges, has seams What is it? Is it old? What is the pattern?

Have you tried flipping this piece over to see if it stands up well??
Is this a punch bowl stand when flipped over ???

Hi, just adding my two cents for whatever it is worth.  I don't think that the item is a punch bowl stand.  Because of the irregularity rim it would not sit flat. Joci
