iOS deep links (or universal links) broken..?

dear ebay sw engineering, 

im running ios 16.4.1 and clicked a rover.ebay.exampletexthere link. i was then prompted w whether i wanted that link to be opened in the ebay ios app instead of in the browser… i chose yes - unfortunately it doesnt doesnt respond correctly.

I took me a while to figure this out, but iOS eBay deep links actually do work as of late 2023. Below is an example of the syntax. When entered into Safari it opens the eBay app and shows the correct item.
