This may seem off-topic, but it's really not. I'd kind of like to talk about the Harry Potter books. Specifically, if I'm bringing a comic-book mind-set to the world of Harry Potter, and if it's causing me to be suspicious of everything that's happening, or if it's giving me an insight into J. K. Rowling's mind that non-comic people don't have.

Even more specifically, are the deaths in the Harryverse as meaningless and misleading as they are in the comic universes?

Maybe I'll start a thread later.

Also, I have several British HP books, which have entirely differently covers than the American versions. Should I have them CGC'd?

No. The movies are good, but as usual, the books are much better.

The problem with the first movie was that it was almost too close to the book. It was like an illustrated version of the book. There was nothing extra, nothing that took advantage of the visual possibilities. It traveled in a very straight line. It was good, but lacked life.

Numbers 2 and 3 were a little better.

I've heard the Harry Potter books are definately better then the movies. I have both movies and books, just haven't sat down to read the books.
