CGC Comic Books - Buyers not paying, unreal

I'm newish to buying / selling cgc books...  Took it on as a hobby - started recently selling things to free up space.  The non-paying portion of this group seems out of hand.  Its  like 1 out of 5 auction winners just don't pay - regardless of follow up, sending invoice, etc.  Had two recently wait for days and say "just cancel it".  Had another make an offer, I accepted, cancelled the auction - then he didn't pay. **bleep**.  At this stage its almost not worth dealing with anymore....  Have set up screens on who can buy but there is no way to know.  I don't know if this group is worse than most?  Have sold other stuff over the years - literally, never had an issue I can recall.  Now its literally 1 out of 5 that just don't pay.  And, with the new ebay set up I have no idea if they're getting dinged, if its tracked, etc. Again - getting to a point where its almost now worth doing this anymore. Sorry for the vent.

No its pretty bad. I've had buyers straight up lie about descriptions. I've had buyers return items with "just didn't like it" and I had to accept return/refund because eBay will always side with them. Bear in mind, this is with books worth over 3k so the wear and tear of shipment, and handling by them, handling by me, repackaging is just not only dangerous but expensive.

I do think there is more good than bad though, I just remember my worst experiences.

Surely you are opening nonpaying bidder cases if you aren't paid within 48 hours or allowing eBay to do it for you.

What new eBay setup are you seeing in relation to buyers' payments?

What good does that do? eBay does absolutely nothing to rein in non-paying buyers. eBay has cancelled UPI cases and just cancels the item if the seller doesn't. Waste of time.

When a seller opens a nonpaying bidder case:  (or if eBay cancels it for him for that reason):

The seller's final value fees are refunded.

That buyer then has a "strike".

If a seller has his requirements set accordingly, two strikes in twelve months will mean that most smart sellers don't have to deal with that buyer.
