information on bronze disk signature

Hello, any ides on the artist of this bronze plaque? It measures about 3". Thank you.

I am thinking that may be the title, rather than a signature ("Am Abend" is German for "in the evening"). Perhaps that is the artist's mark on the left.

Yes, and the bird could be a Nightingale -- abundant in Germany and known, of course, for its beautiful song, especially in the evening.

I agree with you about the maker's mark, but I can't read it.

"Eventide" might actually be a better translation in the context - same meaning, but more poetic and evocative.

When I put up the photo I noticed that mark, I thought it might be the artist initials after my post! Good eye...or two rather. Thank you.
