I think it's a vintage medal from the St. Paul Winter Carnival, but I'm not sure. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Here are some pictures of the Front and the Back. The ring connected to the medal has not been pulled apart. Strong indicator they came together.

I got this medal in a lot of other vintage badges and pinbacks. They all dated between 1920's-1960's. The ribbon on his medal looks similar to a old St. Paul Winter Carnival medal that I saw on google.

You mean it's red, white & blue?  The point in all this is that you need more proof other than one element. The jump ring is easily pulled apart and put back together. Circa 1920-1960 would be an acceptable date for the ribbon and closure. The medal looks much newer.
