Your photos are quite dark and not close up enough to see the mark or any detail.

I agree, OP is going for an evocative and moody look when what we need to see to identify this is brightness of light of original enlarged photos with the sharpness of a well-honed razor. Anything less will just tumble to the bottom of the page. Happy Thanksgiving.
