Vintage Christmas ornament from early 1900s

This is a vintage ornament that my family has. I tried to find it online for a long time and finally found a Radko it looked very similar but I realize Christopher Radko did not start making ornaments until way after this one is made. So I assume that the Radko was made in tribute to this one. After some research I found one picture of it on the Internet and it was indicated that it was in John lighteners book of rare ornaments. I did finally get to see a picture but it looks a little different not quite as yellow. I think the one he had a picture of is in worse condition possibly. One interesting thing about it is that the top of the caps is made in the US of A. Does anyone have any knowledge of this ornament and can you give me any advice? This is so great so I found this forum. I sure do appreciate any help

I don't know a thing about Christmas ornaments, but your mention of "made in the US of A"  reminded me of a recent thread. It may not be relevant to your item, but here's a link to the discussion in case it helps:

Many of those figural Christmas ornaments were made in Czechoslovakia and Germany. Maybe someone replaced a missing cap with another they had on hand? Does it fit the ornament or seem unmatched? Can’t really tell from the picture.

While I do not think Shiny Brite made this ornament...  "Made in US of A" is a Shiny Brite Cap made from 1937-1941.  So there is a starting point.   The design looks to be European - likely German post war.

A note on Radko Ornaments - most of the early Radko Ornaments and some current ones are knock-offs of 1930s-50s designs most of which were German or Polish made.  They also copied some of the post war Japan designs.    Later they made copies of shiny brite designs marketed in Shiny Brite / Radko boxes.

The copies of 1930s European designs makes sense if you read why Radko started making ornaments.

You are trying to help someone who has long sinced vanished, I'm afraid.  OP created ID, then posted and poofed on February 21, 2022.   Started thread, immediately signed off, never signed in again.
