Silver Roman Coin, ID Needed, Year? Thanks!

Hi There,

I'm hoping someone may have some knowledge of the year or id of this Roman coin.

It has a ship on one side. Thanks for any feedback and hope you have a great week ahead!

Thanks again! Any idea why part of the coin is more 'black'? Thanks again for any feedback!

Thanks again for your help! Does anyone happen to know why there is some 'black' paint on top? Is this normal or is it the silver's patina? Thanks for any feedback and hope you have a great week ahead! 🙂

Frankly, I think it looks that way because it's a reproduction, sold by places like this:

You need to do more research, now that you know what the coin is or is supposed to be.

Look at the edge. Cast replicas usually show signs of a line all around the edge where two halves join.

Roman Imperatorial coins are very desirable, there are manny counterfeit coins being offered for sale.

Do an internet search on the characteristics of published ancient coin forgeries.

Beware that genuine ancient silver or bronze coins may have artificially darkened or colored surfaces to hide surfaces scratches & damage
