Selling an inherited stamp collection.

I see posts about selling valuable postage stamps on eBay, but how do you sell less-valuable stamps?  I inherited a collection of stamps, many of which (according to Scott's catalogue) are worth $3 or $4.  It's not practical to list a stamp for say, $5, so how do I combine them to sell for at least $10?  Any tips are appreciated.

Selling an inherited stamp collection.

@langhorn   I did a search on the boards and found this thread:

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/stamp-collection-to-be-listed/m-p/34397415

It has some replies & useful tips from some of the stamp sellers that post here and are knowledgeable.

Unfortunately, stamp collecting at the lower end is an almost dead hobby.  There are still collectors for better items but, there aren't many album fillers any more.  I wouldn't try to sell an single stamp alone unless you can find where that issue has sold previously on here for at least $10 to $15.  You need to go by sold items, not Scott values.  If you have a complete series or several from a series (like the Columbian Exposition set), it might be best to sell them as a lot.  Anything newer than the 1960's or 1970's, with few exceptions, in unused condition are just as well used for postage, TBH.

China is the world's largest foreign stamp distribution center. It has the largest number collectors  in the world. Many European stamps are purchased according to weight tonnes and then exported to China. It's too difficult to sell stamps in person.
