Please help identify this logo. Railroad or Ship?

I’ve spent a couple of hours trying to figure out who’s logo this is.  I’m thinking the “L” stands for lines, but I don’t know if it is rail or ship.  Date code on the plate puts it at 1961.

Maybe a railroad or ship line, but in my experience the C is far more likely to stand for Club or College.  I'd search along those lines.

Look at the Ladies Methodist Ladies College logo, for just one example:

I know very little on china but looking at your logo could it possibly be for MCL Cafeteria ?  Their colors are red and they first opened in 1950 if that timeline works.   Just a thought
