Need help to read name on glass vase

I have a beautiful glass vase with a name on the bottom and on the base that I cannot read. Does anyone recognize this signature or the vase? The one etched on the bottom is ??? New York. Can't read the first part. Can't read any of the name on the side of the base, except maybe the first letter 'L'. The design on the vase has been cut so that it is raised against a base of yellow glass.  Hope this makes sense. Sorry, I'm not a glass person! The vase measures 8" tall. it says le verre francais.  it is cameo glass but one must be careful as the market is flooded with fake cameo glass, particularly from famous makers as this one.

Thank you! Is there a way to tell a fake from a real one? A little history on the piece:  It came out of the estate of a couple who were the 'original' antiques dealers in my town. They had a shop long before antiques and collectibles were appreciated by so many. They were in their 90's when they died and the house was FULL. The children had 5 tag sales over 5 weekends and the house was still loaded after that. They finally called in a dealer to buy all of what was left. Sadly they gave their prized collections away for pennies on the dollar. I bought a wonderful loads of incredible things. I know this doesn't guarantee authenticity, but the things they kept seemed to be the rarer and better pieces. Thanks again for your  help!

Any ideas on the etched mark on the bottom?

Well I did a search on the name and found several vases identical to mine or almost identical so I'm guessing that's not a good sign. I will put it in the window and enjoy it!
