Need help identifying 'Tea Strainers' ENGLAND

Hello,

I purchased the attached items at an estate sale.  The tag indicated 'tea strainers'  As you can see they are marked ENGLAND.  I have looked every where to locate any like  these little 'strainers'.   Just don't know really what they are, and how to describe them.  They measure 2' in diameter X 1" high.  Believe to be Silver Plate.   I would appreciate any help..  thanks so much..  julie s.

I think they are individual nut/mint dishes, used at each place setting at the dinner table.

Yes, I would think they're nothing to do with tea. Imagine the mess.

A tea strainer would usually have a long handle and wouldn't come in sets.

They look like they might be individual salt dishes which originally had glass liners.  And yes, they appear to be silver plate.

I agree with the others here.  Tea leaves would slide right on through those openings, and the hot water / tea would scald your fingers, to boot.

These are for nuts, mints, or the like.   Nice on the bridge tables for example.
