Also, if 安東五 is a personal name it would explain the honorific 先生 (Sensei).

Here's what I mean:

"In general usage, it is used, with proper form, after a person's name and means "teacher"; the word is also used as a title to refer to or address other professionals or persons of authority, such as clergy, accountants, lawyers, physicians and politicians or to show respect to someone who has achieved a certain level of mastery in an art form or some other skill, e.g., accomplished novelists, musicians, artists and martial artists"  (my emphasis).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sensei

I don't think sensei (先生) would be written after the name of a city.

Sure.  Could be.  I was only going by what I found on-line,

Is that the translated example shown by Lacemaker earlier in the thread?

No, it was not.  I found it using info provided in the first post by -vietcoins-.  I've since had the computer off, and when I closed all browsing history was deleted (my preferred setting).   I just don't feel like finding it again.   I offered what I could and the rest is up to others.

Yep, there are Hiragana characters in this one, so it is Japanese beyond a doubt. I haven't a clue what it says, but it's Japanese.

OK.  I've never used Reddit, so I had no idea that one received complete and accurate translations of large blocks of text quickly.  I'll keep it in mind.

Yes, r/translator is very good for requests like this. Obviously there's a limit in terms of how much you can expect (it's a volunteer service), but if the OP posts those two photos I'm pretty sure they'll get a fast and accurate response.
