Help with buying a coin

There are two nearly identical 1944-p wheat pennies, both are not double die or repunched. both in general the same condition yet one cost $2.99 and the other  $410.00 and I don't know why. I thank you for any help. John

Re: Help with buying a coin

if you are referring to the one that is now 399.99...it is graded by pcgs, it is a mint error, on a thick planchet.  Prices for errors like this would depend on how scarce it is and the buyer demand. This is an asking price.
