Looks like A. V. Gogh?
The signature looks similar to but not exactly the same as the signature on this painting. The signature is upper and lower case and cursive on this painting, whereas on your painting it is upper case block letters. But, the shaping of the A and G's are similar.

The signature your talking about is top mine is middle and one i found on findartinfo forum (without any info)
Also identifies as A.V. Gogh also from 1964
Funny how misidentifying a couple of letters on my part made it impossible to come up with anything.
Think you obviously nailed the spelling. and that solves it,regardless if the cursive is relative.
