Re: Help I’d this fiesta bowl

The last time  you asked for help with Fiesta, you ignored us. I don't know why you're asking us now.

what the heck does that even mean?  If you don't feel like helping then don't. But making silly statements like this do not contribute to to anything other than showing the world that you have too high an opinion of yourself.

Re: Help I’d this fiesta bowl

Could it be the fact that of several posts with questions about helping ID something that I looked at, I didn't see any thanks or thumbs up for the help from you!

No one gets paid to help ID things, people volunteer their time helping.  I see 45 pages that are mostly asking for help IDing items going back to 2017.  Maybe that is something to think about instead of saying has a high opinion of themselves.

OK, you have a really short memory.

To remind  you, you asked about the color of these Fiesta mugs on Jan 14, 2025:

I and others put a lot of effort into the replies. You ignored what we said.

I still don't know why you're asking us for help, because you don't want our opinions, not unless we agree with you, apparently.

It would be rude to point out someone else's rudeness, so I'm not going to go there.

It looks like a saucer that goes under a planter to me. Not a "low bowl" at all...

Re: Help I’d this fiesta bowl

@ivanhoeinred you ask for a lot of help, more than any other poster here, yet you never thank anyone nor bother to click on "helpful".

In fact of the 430+ posts you've brought to the Boards with requests for help, you have managed to mark "helpful" for just 2 of them.  And I can't recall any "thank yous" from you either.   You are the one who apparently thinks you're too important.

Next time you want help, and get it, I hope you will come back and acknowledge it.    Oh and TIA doesn't cut it.

Rita

Re: Help I’d this fiesta bowl

What is the difference between thanks in advance and thanks after the fact. to my mind tia as you put it is better. but I guess people have a different view. If  I asked someone to help me on a job as soon as they say they are willing to help and before they finish the task I thank them for stepping up to the plate.

Of your last 30 requests for identification help, 3 of them said "help appreciated" in your first post and 27 of them said nothing other than help ID (or "I'd" which I don't get - auto-correct or intentional?).

I think all these lovely people that are dedicating their time and hard-earned expertise to help just want some kind of thanks or acknowledgement.

Make use of the "helpful" button, the "best answer" button, come back to say thanks and acknowledge you saw their responses, and when you get solid answers - use that info to update your listings rather than ignoring it (like those mugs) and making people think all their efforts were time wasted.

I'm the first to admit, when I post here I'm so focused on helping others I forget about the "helpful" button, probably because it's not important to me personally for someone to mark my post helpful, but it is to others so I try to keep that in mind and make an effort. Often I fail; I'm not perfect. At least I try.

When I'm the one asking for help? Absolutely I'm coming back to say thanks to everybody - whether their info answered my question or not.

Heck, these ladies and gents have given so much time to you, why don't you give a little time to them and go back through your previous posts  to make some acknowledgements? Don't bump them all with new posts, but use the helpful button to show your appreciation, and mark some best answers to help others that have the same items and are looking for an ID.

Be kind to fellow humans who have shown so much kindness to you.

Or, you know, burn your bridges and do your own research moving forward. Up to you.

I typically avoid the "drama" but I saw this discussion and had to support these folks as they are truly giving of their time and knowledge.

My 2 cents - take it or leave it. Word on the street is I'm just an AI bot so maybe my thoughts don't count. 🤖

I'm going to scroll up this discussion and give out some thumbs up to these people that stuck up for themselves.
