Have spent many hours without success on identifying these marks.
If some one could enlighten me it would be greatly appreciated. The initials are clearly J.B.

Surprised that not a single reply to perhaps help identify this maker & mark ??

It's called the 4th of July. Independence Day.
As for your post. To get up to speed on how this board operates, read the very first thread where it says we are all volunteers and not ebay employees. We all do our best to make sure we answer ...if anyone knows the answer. It's exceedingly rare for anyone to return just to say we don't know the answer.
Happy 4th of July! Oh, are there and big holidays in your country?

Not to worry, you do have Waitangi Day which seems to be a pretty big deal and your prime minister is just as cute as a button. So it's all good, right?

Personally i rate Anzac day more important than Waitangi day over here.
Cute as a button but just a spin doctor.
Yeah all good

Personally speaking, no, I don't find it terribly surprising, all things considered, that there have been so few responses. You already seem to know it is a 'dog clip', made by 'J.B., and you give no indication that it is actually 'gold'. Is it a clip for a mouse size dog to a or a house size dog? The photos are lousy, sloppy and no detail other gross views - is it suffering from erosion, corrosion, wear, use or abuse - or all of the above?
(and, you want your free information when?)

No literal dogs involved - it's the informal name for part of an Albert pocket watch chain.

It's had 200+ views, so evidently no one recognizes it. There's the possibility that "J.B." are the owner's initials, rather than the maker's mark.
If you haven't already done so, you might care to post this piece and the other one to the Jewelry board, as well:
