Have a pastel painting from 1905, but unable to make out whole signature. Any help would be appreci.

I have a pastel painting I bought at a thrift store the other day, I removed it from the farm to get a better look at it, here are some pictures of the pastel. Not sure on the artist, I can make out Man and unsure what the other 3 letters are and then there is a D and dated 1905. It appears to be the original frame, had an original pencil price of 89.00 on it. Could be European but not sure. It measures 32” x 10”, Thanks for the help
