HELP identifying a patch

It looks very much like the 19th Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/19th_Tactical_Electronic_Warfare_Squadron

This seller identifies it as 19th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron Patch R-3:

Guessing German based on the style of the eagle and the flag colors.

Thanks—good thought.  I had earlier searched some german stuff but wasnt able to find anything.  Not real knowledgable on german stuff but almost seems like a phoenix instead of the nazi eagle.

Looks to me to be a WWII Marine unit patch.....google those words and you will find hundreds of different unit patches, much in the same vein as the one you have.  Good luck!

Yeah, it beats me.  Looks sort of like an eagle, sort of like a thunderbird, sort of like some spooky hybrid.  The blue element at the bottom looks like an inverted trident.  I can't tell if the thingies at the top of the globe are bolts, searchlights,  satellite dishes, or what.  The ribbon with endless Xs is new to me, too.

Altogether, unfamiliar.  I hope someone can figure it out, because I'd really like to know what it is and means.

Check out the design used by the Doolittle Raiders in WWII. While obviously not identical to the OP's, I think it demonstrates that art.pottery is right about it being a thunderbird:

Good info—i definitely think the thunderbird suggestion is on target.  I also never seen the ribbon with x’s on it.    Will keep searching and appreciate all the feedback and suggestions

The one you show is so precise (a different technique) but I wonder if the OP's might be theatre made. Some of those look very sloppy.

If those are bolts, maybe motor pool?

The ribbon-with-x's is a real mystery. I think you could well be right about the bolts being a clue.
