Re: Could I sell this dagger on Ebay?

Here is the policy on knives:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/firearms-weapons-knives.html

Allowed

Allowed

You can list:

  • Oversized balisong knives—the kind that require 2 hands to open

  • Tactical daggers

  • Throwing knives

Restricted

Allowed in some situations

You can also list:

  • Parts for switchblades, as long as they can't be used to make a complete switchblade. Sellers have to list each part individually.

  • Practice balisong or butterfly knives that have holes in the blade and can't be sharpened

  • Spring-assisted knives. There has to be manual movement of the blade by a thumb stud or screw that's clearly visible on the blade.

  • Training or practice throwing stars that are made of resin and aren't sharp enough to penetrate the body

Not allowed

Not allowed

You cannot list:

  • Automatic knives

  • Balisong knives

  • Butterfly knives

  • Dual-action knives

  • Gravity knives

  • Hidden or disguised knives such as air gauge knives, belt buckle knives, lipstick case knives, or writing pen knives

  • Out-the-front (OTF) knives

  • Paratrooper knives

  • Push knives—also called push daggers, punch daggers, punch knives, push dirks, and T-handled knives

  • Replica or imitation switchblades

  • Switchblade knives (knives with a blade that open automatically—for example, by pressing a button or through inertia or gravity)

  • Sword canes

So no since it's considered a belt buckle knife?

Re: Could I sell this dagger on Ebay?

That is not a belt buckle knife. A belt buckle knife looks like a belt buckle with a spring triggered blade in it. I think you are fine listing it.

I believe it would be considered a tactical dagger.

Re: Could I sell this dagger on Ebay?

I was a little wrong about the design of the belt buckle knife. Here is a picture of one though. Definitely not what you have.

Oh I am not too familiar with knives. I didn't see any markings on it.

I just wonder how old it is, it has brass on it.

Re: Could I sell this dagger on Ebay?

If it was made by a company there will be markings on the blade up close to the guard at the end of the blade by the handle. I think there is a chance it is a well made custom knife though and may not be marked.

Re: Could I sell this dagger on Ebay?

Yea I though it was a cool looking knife so I wanted to post it. I got it from a thrift store for 10 dollars like a year ago. I looked and still didn't see any markings not even on the leather holder, I guess it's leather. You would think it would be marked because it looks well made to me too, not really sure. Doesn't really look used.

Probably a more recent copy of this design.
