What's written on the other side of the signature?

Please post a clear photo of the other writing, the writing under the girl in the green dress.   It looks like it may be the title of the work, or other key information, upon which one could search.  Or have you already done so with no results?  Even if you have, remember that others might succeed where you failed, if they had all the information to go on.

Also, seeing how an artist has handwritten individual letters (or groups of letters) in the title can sometimes be key to deciphering the signature itself.

Perhaps it's a game of guess the title. I vote for Point in Time.

The placement of the figures reminds me of Banksy.

IKR . And just to be safe I checked for a nice close-up in the op's current listings, duplicate threads on this board and evidence of naughty word punking. All came back clean, so proceed with the extraction Dr. Maxine 😋

It helps to see how the person forms certain letters, especially since you know what the other words are. Every little clue counts.

Bear in mind that for all we knew, the text might have been in French, German, Swedish, Swahili... Please do still post an actual photo if you can, for the reasons mentioned by palmtreelucky. (Also, are there any labels or markings on the back?)

Here at Maxine's Free Detective Agency, we have decided, after many years of frustration and wasted effort, to decline clients who choose to not give us all the information they have, straight up and right up front.

We like solving mysteries so much that we work for free, but we will no longer work when assigned need-to-know status by those seeking our help.

Thank you for your understanding, and good fortune to you.

"Study for Tom and Susan Foster'"

It is very much how a title would be written which is why the artist took the time to write it on the piece of art. Tom and Susan Foster may very well be the working title. We don't know why they chose those words; possibly more at work here than meets the eye. Why is there no closeup of that at this point?
