Confusing designs elements on fluted or bulbous silver bowl. Where do you think it's from?

I have this 12 inch bowl with 3 claw legs. There are no markings for maker or silver content. I'm confused about where this bowl was made. It has Mexican, Native American and South American or Spain design elements. It might just be an El Paso Mercado knock-off, but it passed basic tests (not just surface acid testing) for solid silver. The seller I bought this from said he bought it in Italy in the mid-60s.  The bottom sides have areas where the silver polish didn't remove the tarnish. I've never seen anything from Italy that didn't have proper markings or in any style like this.

So what say ye?
