Hello, Can I please get help identifying this print? It measures 22" x 18" and is a very fine tissue that seems to be etched. There is a pencil signature which I cannot make out on the right. On the lowest portion (left) there is also some pencil writing but the only word I can make out is the last on which says "proof".
The tissue is mounted by the edge to a board.
Thank you and any help would be appreciated.

It appears to be similar to this print:
Welcome Footsteps (Well-known Footsteps)
After Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema

This is described as an Engraving on chine collé, which is like tissue paper.

Found it!
It's a Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema entitled "Welcome Footsteps" 1883 and now I can make out the signature as well.

As I said before, this engraving is after Sir Alma-Tadema, which means it's not by him, it is a printed copy of a painting by him, c. 1883.
You appear to have another print from the same series as the one in the Metropolitan Museum that I linked to before, which is a very nice find. Unfortunately, there appears to be some damage to the chine collé at the bottom left.

Hello, Yes, it is a nice find. The corner has a crinkle in the paper but no tearing or missing parts. I won't touch it and let the experts tend to it.
What a nice piece of history!
Thanks!

Hello and thank you for your info.
I sent photos of the work to Sotheby's print department because I'm curious about it being signed in pencil by Tadema. We shall see what becomes of it!
Thank you for your help and advice.
