This small bowl is 1&3/8" high. I did my best to get pictures of the markings on the bottom but it is so tiny. It is metal. I would appreciate any information. I would love to know where it' from and what does the markings mean. Thank You

I would think Chinese. You would do yourself a favor if you took crystal clear close ups on that mark and the writings.

They are Chinese. The first one could mean the Shang Dynasty. The rest of them are hard to recognize because they are not written in the modern form.

First of all, this work does not belong to the "Shang" dynasty. Can you take some clearer photos?

I asked a friend who likes ancient Chinese poems to translate the text on your container.

First of all, it is "商". I will not describe its meaning first.

The second picture (including the following 5 pieces connected from left to right) "念, 纪, 年, 周, 十" generally signed from right to left, so it is "十周年纪念" translated into English It’s the "10th Anniversary" and from my experience, "商" has to be not "Shang Dynasty" but ** Chamber of Commerce

So this container should be a gift for the 10th anniversary of the ** Chamber of Commerce
Just draw a conclusion from the text, it should not have high collection value and can be used as an ornament

Or you can take more detailed photos, I can give a more specific conclusion

This is just to satisfy my own curiosity, but I had taken the character you identify as 纪 to be 記 (记) - is that at all possible?
