eBay’s “automation or artificial intelligence” is allowing fake items over $500 to be sold and needs to be held accountable

How would AI or eBay know if it is real or fake from just a listing? Neither have the item in their hands. If you got something that was not as described, open that return.

That's when you use the MBG to return the item and get a refund.

Proprietary OCR software to look for Text that is on a baby blue rectangle and hologram “Authentication direct”
This thread is a direct formal complaint which is publicly visible and directly asks eBay as a follow-up to stop facilitating the trafficking of counterfeit merchandise
How long should merchandise matching the described remain on eBay?

Actually it isn't because no one here works for ebay and only a handful of people relatively speaking will see your post.

"Proprietary OCR software to look for Text that is on a baby blue rectangle and hologram “Authentication direct” "
What I found when searching for "Authentication direct"; Authentication Direct (directcoa.com)
So it's related to the sporting field, what about everything else over $500?
If you bought something that was fake either and or use the Money back/report the seller to Authentication Direct. You left out a lot of details in the original post because many if not most people read this have no clue what that is along with changing the original post while some were posting so did not see the update.

I didn’t not purchase a counterfeit item, I reported two completely counterfeit items and eBay didn’t remove them

Unfortunately, just one person reporting them does nothing, nor does one person reporting multiple times. Takes several people reporting the same item before eBay does anything. Been that way for a very long time.

If ebay 'removed' listings every time someone 'reported'...then MILLIONS of listings would be removed (mostly by 'fake reports' from the competition).
You are NOT the 'official guru' of anything listed, so your 'report' goes nowhere...as it should. When 'buyers' that actually 'purchased' and complain 'enough'...then the item may get some attention.
