Antique wine bottle holder

I have this very old "fiasco" as it is properly called.  It is a basket like contianer to hold a round bottle of wine.  I think this is very old and silver.  I have not been able to find any maker or silver marks.  They may be there but I am not seeing them.  Can you give me some ideas about this pretty piece.  Any into is appreciated.  I did hear it could date back to the 1700s.  I don't stand by that date.  Thanks for any guidance.

I believe a fiasco basket is made of straw.  The patina on your item looks like copper on my screen but maybe in person the color is more silver.  Is the second photo showing the top of the bottle?  Is the bottle removable? Can you show a photo of the entire item, top to bottom, and tell us the size?

As a professional Merlot drinker, my take is that it is not silver and not terribly old, maybe from the 1960s  or newer. It is either a reproduction or a fantasy piece or simply made in an old style.
