Antique southwest/mexican? pottery jug.

Old Jug? I picked up for a few bucks at a local antique shop.  Previous owner didn't know anything about it.  An online "expert" told me it wasn't American Indian.   Said maybe "Mexican", but he didn't think much of it.  Seems real old to me.  Has an old museum label on the underside.  It is broken.  Measures about 8 1/4" tall and 5" at it's widest.  Looking to identify it & find out if it has any value.  Thanks!

You might find some information in this catalogue if you can get a hold of it.

Hard to tell from photographs but shape may be a botijo.   You can do a Google Images search and compare with examples.

Looks like Mexican pottery. No matter what you find out it is still a heavily damaged piece of pottery!

Arrowsmiths in Santa Fe may know of Gold's.
