My wife received several old coins from her grandfathers estate. I am not a coin person so it is above my paygrade. The researce I have done shows pricing all over the map. The coin has been kept in a clear round hard case. I have included a couple of pictures of one of the coins. Any help or direction would be very helpful. Thank you in advance.

That's a nice looking coin and appears to be in great condition, the picture is a bit blurred to see the mintmark on the back of coin under the wreath. Morgan dollars are my favorite coin. My suggestion to you is to check the Red Book of US Coin value. Check your local library to see if they have one in order to get an idea.
Don't always take what you see on eBay or other sites as value, as sometimes it tends to be overpriced. At least the Red Book can be used as guide. It also gives you an understanding on how to grade a coin for condition. The better the condition, the better the value.
Good luck.

Because I have a bagfull of fakes, I am suspect. The 7 doesn't look right, and the spacing of the word ONE on the backside the spacing between letters is off. These things were noted when I took mine in to have them looked at. Even the "O" looks suspect. I do not know for sure, just some things that pop out to me.
I would take it to a coin shop for valuation and to certify they are what they are.

You should also see extremely fine and tiny detail on the feathers. I'm not seeing that either.

This is an estimate based on 20 minutes of internet research: The coin probably has a retail value of about 30 to 40 US Dollars. This is an estimate only! There will most likely be other estimates found or posted.

Yes, there is always the possibility that the coin is a counterfeit!
